Coaching Staff

Coach Foxy

Abbie Fox founded Battle Born Throws Club to fill a critical gap in off-season training for throwers in the Summerlin area. Driven by a passion for athlete development and a commitment to helping throwers grow year-round, she created BBTC as a place where athletes could sharpen their skills, build confidence, and compete at a higher level.

With over 10 years of coaching experience, Abbie currently serves as the throws coach and head coach at Faith Lutheran High School, where she has led the program for the past three years. Her love for the sport runs deep—her father was a coach long before she was born, and she’s been surrounded by track and field for as long as she can remember.

Abbie’s energy, knowledge, and dedication make her a powerful advocate for young throwers looking to reach their full potential both in and out of season.

Preston Beery

Preston Beery joins the Battle Born Throws Club coaching staff this summer, bringing with him elite-level experience and a legacy of excellence in the ring. After a standout high school career at Faith Lutheran, where he competed all four years, Preston went on to throw collegiately at the University of Southern California (USC) during his freshman year.

A dominant force in Nevada’s 5A division, Preston holds the Faith Lutheran school records in both the discus and shot put. Even more impressively, he set the all-time Nevada state record in the shot put with an extraordinary mark of 68 feet, 10 inches.

Preston’s blend of high-level competition experience and passion for mentoring young athletes makes him a valuable asset to the BBTC coaching team. He’s excited to give back to the throwing community and help the next generation chase big marks.
